Default How large is the area effect of Epidemic?

This skill is going to be a major part of my build, and the area of effect of it will probably make or break the build.

So I hope it's big :/

I'm not sure on this, but I heard it was similar in size to the skill Eruption. I'm not positive on that, but I remember hearing it.

Example:

2 warriors are attacking the same monk, but standing on opposite sides. If I get multiple conditions on one of them and then cast Epidemic, it WILL NOT REACH THE OTHER ONE.

That's how bad it's range is. DO NOT USE EPIDEMIC.

lol yea what he said. They practically have to line up shoulder to shoulder for it to work.

Just throwing my 2 cents in - I agree with everyone who says Epidemic sucks. The targets literally have to be making out for it to work.

Uh...I don't know about you guys, but I can use epidemic in this situation and it will easily affect both of them.

Just yesterday I had 3 warriors beating up on me, I used throw dirt and pin down on one, and then epidemic and it reached the two on the opposite side of me.

I'd say the range is about the length of a normal person if you layed him down on the ground in-game. It works for me so long as they're "near" the enemy, just as it says.

There seems to be some other factor included too - perhaps some quirk of the positioning, or the way the maths is worked out, or perhaps something to do with the opponents' sizes. I use mark of pain a lot with my warrior-sometimes when I have enemies on opposite sides of me it goes off, and at other times it doesn't.

I haven't been able to figure out what the difference is.

The mark of pain AOE would seem to be pretty similar to epidemic, judging from what everyone else is saying here. Mark of Pain lists targets as having to be "adjacent", so perhaps the text for epidemic needs to be modified to have the "nearby" changed to "adjacent". Other spells which describe effects as being carried over to "nearby" enemies seem to have a larger AOE, I think.

Mark of pain is enemies near the guy afflicted with it, and a good rule of thumb is that if someone could run between the afflicted guy and the person you want it to hit without clipping, then you wont get them.
